Yunum Peak - To experience something which was never explored yesterday and too late to discover tomorrow
Overview of Yunum Peak
This peak is located in the Lahaul district of Himachal Pradesh near Baralacha La Pass at 6111M and is one of the rarest trekkable peaks. It is a great alternative for Stok Kangri and Kang Yatse 2 in Ladakh. The summit provides you fantastic views of the C.B.Range and Mulkilla Range with views stretching as far as Zanskar.
The trek is considered somewhere between Moderate and difficult because it is meant for experienced trekkers due to height gain and chilling wind which will freeze your bones. The best months to experience this beauty is from July to October.
Yunam is located on the far side of Himachal where the mountains are terrifyingly rugged and sparse in greenery. The highest motorable road of the state ends in Baralacha La, which is a few kilometers from Yunam base camp Here, the pathways of Ladakh, Spiti, and Lahaul meet each other. Traveling over from Manali to Keylong to Bharatpur- from where the trek begins, are an adventure in itself as you are traveling from gentle undulations, green slopes, and apple orchards of Manali to the rugged and gray Rocky Mountain highs. The drive to this far end of the world is speechless and breathtaking in terms of changing topographies, the chilling winds of starkly dropping temperature, and bizarre emerald lakes glistening within the middle of nowhere during a cold rocky desert matrix. The high from Bharatpur onwards features snow patches, mixed scree and snow tracks, and sharp jagged walls of rock. Quite unusually, the stretch of this glaciated desert isn't in need of water points. Thanks to the bottom camp and beyond, a variety of streams will cut the trail across and at the bottom camp we'll have a little lake in the vicinity.
The going is difficult as you ascend your path. Frostbitten winds are available squalls and hit hard, the pace has got to be moderated to stay from slipping on screen, and most of all, the rapid gain in altitude can take a toll. The expected physical agitation, coupled with unpredictable weather at the upper reaches of the trek and has the potential of a deathly challenge. Climbers must put grit against grit and overcome this hurdle with strong will and determination.

Hence, you have to go for a very small hike, Physical fitness and outside surroundings are very important to view as such views you cannot see again in the near future, visit nearby places, and capture the beauty of Nature. Day 7 - Today is a tough day because you will have to trek towards the summit initially and then come back to your Basecamp. The trek is of almost 6.5 km which will take 6-7 hours to complete so. Today's trial is Moraine, covered with sharp rocks, few snow patches and then the top is covered with snow. Here there is only one water point. The view from the top is jaw-dropping.
