Short Itinerary:
Day 00: Journey from Delhi to Bir.
Day 01: Sightseeing at Bir and Camping at Billing.
Day 02: Paragliding at Bir and Café Hopping at Mcleodgunj.
Day 03: Local Sightseeing and Depart to Kasol.
Day 04: Explore Kasol and trek to Chalal.
Day 05: Trek to the gorgeous Kheerganga.
Day 06: Visit to Manali.
Day 07: Explore Manali and go for Sightseeing.
Day 08: Explore the local market and the trip ends.
Day 09: Back to Delhi by early morning hours.
Detailed Itinerary:
Day 00:
- We start in the evening around 7PM from Delhi for our journey to Bir Billing
Day 01:
- Reach Bir early morning, post having breakfast while enjoying the view, the next thing that you would indulge in exploring the local village of Bir.
- You would be exploring the beautiful monasteries of Bir like the Chokling Monastery, Sherab Ling monastery, and go for exploring the local markets and local Tibetan restaurants.
- After having lunch at Bir, the tour commences towards Billing.
- In the evening, you will reach Billing and there can enjoy the blissful sunset.
- The best part is enjoying the bonfire at the camps at night while gazing at the beautiful stars.
Day 02:
- Wake up at the camps in the most pleasant atmosphere to enjoy the delicious breakfast and then go-ahead for the best fly of your life.
- From Billing, get back to Bir by afternoon and start the journey to Mcledogunj.
- Check-in at the hotel in Mcleodgunj.
- Spend the entire day exploring the cafes and a bit of the tourist places till the night.
- Spend the night at the hotel.
Day 03:
- Start the day with a healthy breakfast and then head out for local sightseeing at the place.
- The waterfalls, the temples, and the famous Dalai Lama temple are the major tourist attractions of the place that you can explore here.
- Visit different cafes to try Tibetan cuisine and explore the local markets.
- Start the trip to Kasol in the evening and reach the next morning.
Day 04:
- Check-in into the campsite as you reach Kasol to have some leisure time and also to enjoy breakfast.
- The best things to do at Kasol is to enjoy the breathtaking sight of the Parvati valley, have a river sidewalk along the Parvati river, and also enjoy the serenity of the ambiance.
- Visit the Manikaran Gurudwara Sahib and head out for the Chalal trek in the evening and since it is a small trek, return to the hotel or the campsite by the evening itself.
- Have dinner and an overnight stay at the campsite.
Day 05:
- Head out for Kheerganga trek after having breakfast at the hotel or the campsite in the morning.
- The entire distance of the Kheerganga trek is around 12 km. The trek level is moderately difficult. But, walking around the Parvati valley is one of the most heart-warming things to do there as the sight of the snow-capped mountains is breath-taking.
- Once you reach Kheerganga by evening, you can have dinner at the campsite under the star-studded sky.
Day 06:
- Sixth day is one of the best days on this trip when you head to Manali. You reach there by evening after enjoying the sunrise and going for a hot dip at the natural spring.
- Post exploring the other tourist places, go trek towards at Barsheni and reach Kasol.
- Depart for Manali and reach there by evening.
- Reach the hotel and check-in. Have a relaxed evening at the hotel followed by a comforting dinner.
Day 07:
- Manali is the best place for sightseeing and enjoying the calmness. You go out to explore Manali after having a relaxed morning breakfast.
- Start your day by exploring the famous places of Manali like the Vashisht Temple, Hidimba temple, Jogni falls, and the Mall road.
- Post this, explore the old Manali and visit the famous cute cafes of the place.
- Get back to the hotel at night and have dinner.
Day 08:
- Wake up early morning, freshen up and have a healthy breakfast at your hotel. You can either spend some time in the hotel or go out to explore the local market of the city.
- Head back to Delhi by the evening.
How to Reach:
By Air: Kangra airport is the nearest airport to Bir which is about 68kms from Bir. From Airport one can book a cab for Bir.
By Rail: Pathankot station is the nearest broad-gauge railway station to Bir and is well connected with Delhi, there are plenty of options to pick your train. You can book a taxi from Pathankot Railway station to Bir.
By Road: There are regular buses from Shimla and Dharmshala for Bir. You can book a cab from Shimla or Dharamshala to reach Bir.
