Location and how to reach:- 

To begin with Hampta Pass Trek you have to reach Manali. Manali can be reached by the following modes of transport:

By Air: The nearest airport to Manali is Bhuntar. It is located at a distance of 57 km from Manali. However due to the bad weather conditions flight is not the reliable mode of transport.

By Road: Manali is very well connected by road with different cities. The nearest Delhi bus station is at distance of 570 km from Manali.

Itinerary:-

Day 01:- Drive to Jobra & Trek to Chikka

• We will start a drive in a vehicle arranged by International Youth Club from the reporting point 11:00 AM with your packed lunch to start the trek.
• We will start with a jeep ride to Jobra.
• While moving towards Hampta Dam we will get to view the exquisitely beautiful Pine forests, rock faces and trees like Maple, Walnut, and Oak.
• We will trek from Hampta dam till Chikka, which is our campsite for the first day.
• It takes around 2 hours to complete this part of the trek.
• The trek is easy with very less ascend. There is a small forest patch and then two wooden bridges to get you to the campsite.
• Chikka campsite is identified by big boulders and a beautiful waterfall.

Day 02:- Chikka to Bhalu Ka Gera | 11900 feet | 5-6 hours trek

• Balu Ka Gera is a flat ground amidst the mountains at an elevation of 11,900 ft.
• Today’s trail will take you through Jwara- a beautiful scenic sheltered valley.
• After an early breakfast, the trek begins from Chikka and walk along the banks of the river to the left.
• The route will encompass several small waterfalls, lush green meadows, and Dhauladhar peaks will be your constant company throughout the hiking hours.
• We set up our camps and relax for the rest of the day as we slowly reach an altitude of almost 11000 ft.

Day 03:- Bhalu Ka Gera - Hampta Pass | 14100 Feet | Back to Bhalu ka Ghera |11900 feet | 8 hours

• This is the crowning day of your trip and the most challenging one.
• The trek is long on this day and should be started at around 7 AM.
• It would take approximately 5-6 hours to reach the top.
• As we start walking towards the mountains from Balu Ka Gera along the river for an hour when the gradient begins, the trail takes you straight towards Hampta Pass.
• In no time, you will see the first plateau, the magnificent Deo Tibba peak right in front of you.
• Climb up the ridges as you come closer to Hampta Pass.
• The climb is vertical and steep which demands concentration and effort, which is all worth at the end.
• Now at 14,100 ft., you are on top of Hampta Pass with breathtaking views that will leave you in awe.
• The descent is slightly trickier than the ascent as always.
• It can vary slightly depending on the snow condition too.

Day 04:- Trek from Bhalu Ka Gera to Jorba and Drive back to Manali

• Today’s hike is a gentle one and will take about 5 hrs.
• Having rested for some time one will be advised to walk up a short distance to a nearby waterfall which also plays host to a number of white-capped redstarts.
• We will reach Jorba and we will return to Manali.
• Exciting trek comes to an end with Beautiful Memories.

Difficulty Level:-

The Hampta Pass Trek is one of the easiest Himalayas trekking tours. Specially meant for the beginners & no special training is required for this trek.

Weather:-

The average Hampta Pass temperature is 13°c to 18°c. The temperature can dip to - 0°c at night.

Simple tasty meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided. On trekking days packed food will be available.

There are required entry fees at a certain checkpoint, permit for trek and obligatory forest camping trip charges in the region for the entire length of the trek.
