One of the most awesome places to visit in the weekend is the Makalidurga trek. The total journey is very thrilling and exciting. It is a perfect weekend getaway.
The beautiful hills, the lush green meadows is something to admire in the Makalidurga trek. It is located just 60 kilometers away from Bangalore and 10 kilometers away from a small town known as Doddaballapur.
The height of the Makalidurga peak is 4430 feet and there is also a beautiful and ancient fort located at the hill top. There is also a lake surrounded adding to its scenic beauty.
It is so refreshing to trek here, the beautiful lush green nature and the fresh breathe away from the city is something you long after a hectic and boring life. If ever you get a chance you must visit this beautiful peak. The lake also looks like the continent of North America.
The package contains almost contains everything. All the small details that are needed in the trek like the passes, transport etc are all included. You just need to carry your own stuff like the protein bars and warm clothes needed in the trek. It is a very short trek, which will get over in just a single day.

convinient if you are coming from a nearby place.
By rail - There are two stations in Bangalore. You can easily get trains to Bangalore. As it is a city so a wide range of trains come here from different
The weather is pleasant throughout the year. But if you plan your trip just after monsoon you can have the best time here.
The place will be covered with newly grown green leaves and it will rejuvenate your mind just by looking at it. You just avoid trekking in the months of March, April, May, June as due to the hot weather the beauty of the place is lost.
As it is a very short trip, you will be starting from Bangalore in the morning and be returning back to Bangalore by night.
We will have to start early as we have to head back to Bangalore again on the same day. We will leave Bangalore at 6:00 AM. The total journey is 60 kilometres, so it will take approximately 2 hours to reach the base from where we will start the trek.
After reaching the base start your trek from the railway station. Always carry your water bottle and keep yourself hydrated during the trek. Also, take rests in between if you are exhausted. Click beautiful pictures on your way as you will be getting a lot of beautiful sceneries which will offer a good background to your picture.
After reaching the top stay there for a while. Visit the lake and the ancient fort. You can also bring your own lunch box and have a picnic there with your family.
It is a perfect weekend getaway. You can also plan a lot of games and fun activities there at the peak but be careful with as you are at a huge height.
After staying in the peak for a while start your journey descend by 6:00 PM approx. You can really make a lot of memories there with your friends and family. You Will
have an amazing time there.
The Makalidurga trek is graded as a comparatively easy trek. The weather is also awesome, but you should wear some light warm clothes. It is good for beginners and
people can easily plan such kind of treks with their families.
The weather is very pleasant. If you plan in summers the weather is as high as 35 degrees but if you plan in winters and monsoon the weather remains pretty cold.
There is no accommodation in the trek as it is a one day trek and we will return in just a day.

It is suggested to carry cash all the time. You should withdraw money either in Bangalore or in the base itself from where the trek will start. Don't expect to find any ATM in the hill.
Although most of the things are included in the Makalidurga trek package still one needs to carry their own things like Rucksack, cotton clothes, good trekking shoes, a warm jacket, Gloves, warmer, woollen or monkey cap covering head and ears, UV rays protected sunglasses, raincoat, extra socks, water bottle, torch, cold cream, sunscreen,
toilet soap, towel, Walking Stick medicines that you usually use.
