Day 1 - Manali to Batal

Duration: 3 to 3.5 hours

The very first day of your journey. After having your breakfast, you should get ready for your first-day journey. Today you will go to Batal from Manali by car. The drive from Manali to Batal is very beautiful as you can see a lot of valleys on the go. Valleys like Kullu, Manali, Lahaul, and Spiti are very beautiful to watch from far away. Then you will reach Rohtang Pass. Here you will spend some time and then reach Batal through Lahaul Valley after some time. You will stay at camp overnight here at Batal. After getting refreshed and taking some rest, you need to get yourself acclimatized. As this is a trek at a very high altitude, you should do some work in the evening.
Day 2 - Batal – Chandratal

The second day of your journey starts from here. After having some breakfast, you need to start the trek towards Chandratal. After walking some time, you will cross the Chandra river. After that, you will go upwards. After trekking for 6 hours, you will reach Chandratal Lake. The scenic beauty of the surrounding is very pleasant. The name of this lake suggests that it has the shape of a half-moon and is ringed by high mountains. At the Chandratal lake, you will spend the night inside the camp. From the tent, you can see the beauty of Bara Shigri Glacier along with the scenic beauty of the Himalayan mountains. At this place, you will see some gaddi shepherds too around you.
Day 3 - Chandratal to Kibber via Kunzum La Pass

On day 3rd, you need to get prepared as early as possible in the morning. Have your breakfast and then start trekking from Chandratal lake towards Kunzum La Pass. The beauty of the surroundings is magnificent. You can enjoy the thrill in the middle of the Himalayan atmosphere. Your journey towards Kibber will be through the Kunzum La Pass. It is another popular place where you can visit the Kunzum Mata temple. After reaching Kibber, you will take some rest and may have some food. In the evening, you may visit some beautiful monasteries around here like Kibber Gompa, Key Gompa, Dhankar monasteries, etc. Kibber wildlife sanctuary is another attraction here. Some wild animals like Snow Leopard, the Tibetian wolf, and red fox are some animals that are found here. Few rare medicinal plants are also found here. You will spend overnight inside the tent.
Day 4 - Kibber – Kanamo Base Camp

Altitude: 4800 meter
For the last 3 days, you were getting acclimatized to the surroundings and the atmosphere. From now onwards you will go further to the Kanamo peak summit camp and the altitude will be higher with time. Today you will reach Kanamo base camp at the end of the day. As the path goes higher, trekking will be difficult. As you move forward from the Kibber village, the path will be steep and sometime you will have to climb. On your way, you will cross a tiny leak. In the evening you will take some rest and spend the whole night at the basecamp.
Day 5 - Kanamo base camp to Kanamo summit camp and back to Kanamo base camp

The day will start very early. After having breakfast, you will go early in the morning. In this part, you have to climb a lot. This part is the most difficult part of the entire journey. As the altitude is pretty high, you need to be careful. After reaching the summit camp, you have to take your lunch. The 360-degree view of the surroundings of this place will be beautiful and it cannot be explained in words. From here you can see Parang La Pass, Pin Parvati Pass, Kullu Valley, Kinnaur ranges, Lahaul valley, and Spiti valley. Snowfall at this place may vary depending upon the season. You need to go back to the base camp after spending some time here. You have to be careful as the weather here changes too often. You will spend the night inside the base camp.
Day 6 - Kanamo base camp to Kibber trek and then drive to Kaza

Duration: 4 hours
Altitude: 3800 meter
From here your journey will start to descend. After having breakfast in the middle of the awesome views of the ranges and nature, you will start trekking downwards to Kibber. After reaching Kibber, you will take rest for a moment and after that, you will drive to Kaza by car. You will reach the hotel in Kaza, where you will get yourself fresh. Then have your lunch and take some rest. In the afternoon, you may go out for a walk around the bank of the Spiti river. You will stay in the hotel room at night.
Day 7 - Kaza – Manali
The final day of this beautiful journey. Witha lot of excitement and thrill, you have done everything till now. After having some breakfast, you need to pack your bags and get off towards Manali by car. As your journey ends here.
Temperature/Weather:
Although the temperature varies depending upon seasons. Still, temperature during trekking to the way of Kanamo Peak and temperature at the summit camp of the peak has a major difference.
The temperature falls between 16 to 20 degrees Celsius during the daytime. At night it goes below 0 degrees Celsius and the average temperature at night is -5 degrees Celsius.
As the weather is very much cold here, you must be very careful during the summit.
Peak Information / Height:
Kanamo Peak is situated in Spiti Valley and known as one of the major peaks popular among the trekkers and can be reached on foot. The peak remains covered with snow over the years and located behind the Kibber village. It is as high as nearly 6000 meters. To reach the summit camp, you need fitness and stamina. From the peak, you can see beautiful scenic beauty along with meadows lakes and tiny streams.
Difficulty Level:
Kanamo Peak trek is categorized as a difficult trek. You need good physical conditions and stamina to go to the trek. After that, you need some prior summit experience. The region is very dangerous as it is on high-altitude along with extremely dry weather. Therefore, you need proper training and acclimatization to get used to in the high altitude. For the beginners, it is very difficult to climb up through a tiny path full of boulders.
ATM & Mobile Connectivity (Max 50-100 words)
At the very beginning of Manali, you will get ATMs for sure. After that, you will get an ATM at Kaza, which is the last ATM point of this journey.
The mobile network connectivity is poor here. You will get a BSNL network, which is available at Kaza. Thereafter, no networks you will get. Once you reach Kaza, you should finish all your important phone calls before moving further.
