Package Details

The Indrahara Pass trek is a 3 nights / 4 days trip to the vast mountains of Himalayas. It offers beautiful views of Bhagsu village, Mcleodganj, Dharamsala valley, Shivalik ranges and all other nearby areas.

The package guarantees that no compromise will be made on the quality of the food and the accommodation facilities will be taken care of in the best possible manner, leaving no space for any sort of discomfort.

Location and How to Reach:-

  • Indrahara Pass is a pass in the Himalaya near the Dhaulandar range. It is situated at the altitude of 4,342 meters. To reach Indrahara Pass, you will need to take a bus from New Delhi to McLeodganj which will be an overnight voyage.
  • However, if you are not a huge fan of buses, you can even board a plane from New Delhi to Mcleodganj which will take about 1 hour.
  • People with motion sickness or who sense discomfort in buses can easily book a plane ticket.

Itinerary:-

Day 1: Mcleodganj to Triund

  • Start your trek from Mcleodganj. It is a gradual trek of 9 km. Triund is a beautiful place, home to lush green pasture and panoramic beauty.
  • The daunting Dhaulandar range is clearly visible to you. 
  • Once you reach Triund, the rest of the day is spent at leisure, walking around the camp and prepare yourself for the trek next day.
  • Overnight stay in the Camps.

Distance: 2,800 meters / 9 Km

Time Taken: 5-6 hours

Day 2: Triund to Chhatta Parao

  • The next morning, you will travel to Lahesh Cave. Lahesh Cave is a natural rock cave shelter. It will be an early morning journey. From Lahesh Cave, you will be moving towards Chhatta Parao.
  • It provides a beautiful view of ice streams, and fluffy snow. It is the base of the Indrahara Pass Trek. You are free to click pictures and enjoy the beauty of the streams and snow.
  • Overnight stay in the Camps.

Distance: 3,550 meters

Time Taken: 5-6 Hours

Day 3: Chhatta Parao to Indrahara Pass

  • The following day, the trekkers will start their trek towards the Indrahara Pass. Indrahara Pass is 4350 meters in altitude and lies in the Dhaulandar range of the Himalayas.
  • Words cannot even begin to describe the view from Indrahara Pass. It seems as if you are high enough to touch the clouds. The surreal view of the Indrahar Pass is once-in-a-lifetime sort of view.
  • The same evening, you will be trekking back to Triund.
  • Overnight stay in the camps at night.

Day 4: Leisure day

  • The next day, you will have the entire day to your leisure. You are free to rest or take a walk around the site. You will start your return voyage to Mcleodganj around early afternoon.

Difficulty Level:-

  • The difficulty level of the trek is easy-moderate and the grade is Advanced. Nonetheless, the trek requires good physical strength and mental grit.
  • The trek will be done on steep and sloppy platforms. Your shoes need to have an excellent grip on the ground so that you don’t slip.

Weather

  • The normal weather conditions of the Himalayas are moderately cold yet comfortable with the temperature fluctuating between 12 degrees to 18 degrees.
  • However, the winter months are extremely cold and not an ideal time to pay a visit to the vast Himalayas.
  • The most ideal time to visit the Indrahar pass is from September to October, just before the onset of winter.

Meal:-

  • All meals will be provided during the trek. There will be no compromise on the quality of the food provided.

ATM Points and Connectivity:-

  • There are no ATMs near Indrahara pass, so it is better if you carry extra cash just in case, from Delhi itself. You can carry phones but little or no connectivity is available in the regions.

Permissions/Passes/Permits:-

  • You don’t need any passes or permits to undertake the Indrahara Pass Trek.

  • First Aid Kit
  • Trekking essentials like Mosquito repellents etc.
  • Toiletries and personal medications (if any).
  • Warm and comfortable clothes.
  • Shoes which are ideal for both, running and walking purposes and have a firm grip on the ground
  • For emergency purposes, a mobile phone should be in handy.
  • Carrying money could be helpful too.
  • Sunscreens, lotions, and fleece blankets to keep warms during the nights.
  • Torches with extra batteries.
  • Raincoats and Windcheaters to battle the fierce winds.
  • Footwear which is not slippery.

  • Sunglasses and trekking boots along with light gloves.

  • 50 % refund if notified via phone, Mail 5 days prior to the Date of Travel.
  • No refund if the cancellation is requested is less than 5 days of day of travel.
  • No show, no refund.
  • Booking cannot be transferred to another date against cancellation.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases the our service partner will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity.
  • For all the above choices, you can transfer your tickets to your friends. We would be more than happy to have them on board and you could save your hard earned money.
  • The company reserves the right to cancel the trip due to unforeseen circumstances, in case of such cancellation your amount will be refunded back.

Refund Policy

  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days

The best time to do the Indrahara Pass trek are during the months of September and October, just before the onset of winter.The weather is amazing during this time of the year. You can also witness all the picturesque views clearly. During winters, the temperatures drop and trekking becomes very difficult.

People who do not have any prior experience in trekking can surely do this trek. This trek however requires good physical fitness.

This trek will require good physical fitness.. If you are a person who is not physically fit and mostly leads a sedentary life, then it is advisable to indulge in some form of physical activity like exercises or sports to make yourself fit for the trek. Legs and calf muscles need to be worked upon especially. People who are not very comfortable with treks at high altitudes can do some form of yoga as it helps in building mental and physical confidence.

You should be fit enough physically to do this trek.Carrying basic first aid kit with yourself during the trip is also compulsory. Consult your doctor before coming to this trek and ensure that you are medically fit to go for this trek as the trek does have some difficult terrains and climatic conditions. It is also a must to buy raincoats and umbrellas prior to the trip as the trek happens in the monsoons season. Also make sure you have sufficient warm garments for the trip.

A rucksack is which is sturdy and can accommodate a sufficient amount of things is required. It should also be waterproof as the trek happens during the monsoon season and this would protect your belongings.

Porters and mules will be present to carry the camping equipment. However if you want porters to carry your personal luggage, then you can easily hire them at your personal cost.

A good pair of trekking shoes is essential for this trek. There might be portions where you might have to walk through small streams or rocky portions, so a sturdy pair of shoes is a must.

A guide is necessary for this trek as a guide is well versed with the route. It will more convenient to hire a guide as you do not have to worry about directions or anything like that. A guide also might know some shortcuts to the destination and can help you save time.

The Indrahara Pass trek is a trek of easy to moderate level of difficulty. Beginners who do not have any prior trekking experience can easily do this trek.There are however some steep ascents. Make sure you have shoes that have a good grip on ground.
