Location & How to reach
By Air:- Bhuntar Is the nearest airport. Taxi services are available from Bhuntar to Manali. Bhuntar is well attached to Delhi by air.
By Road:- Manali is well connected to Delhi. You can catch a late night bus from Delhi to Manali.
Pin Parvati trek should be planned from July to mid of September to visit the best serene beauty of its trails.
Day 01- Reporting at Manali(1700m)
On the first day of Pin Parvati trek, you have to report in Manali. About 20km from Manali is Naggar district. Get down here and book a cab to Larankelo which is the base camp for pin Parvati trek.
You will be given a day off for acclimatisation. You can also utilise this day for sightseeing and exploring the local markets.
Day 02– Trek from Bharshani(2100m) to Khirganga(2960m/8960ft; 6 hrs, approx. 13kms).
Starting the pin Parvati trek you will drive from base camp to Bharshani. It will be around 60 km drive takes you through Kasol and Manikaran, passing through the acute bender and kaccha roads along Parvati river. Barshani welcomes you with the refreshful view of Parvati Pass river surrounded by strikingly glorious hills.
As you start the trek, you will be taken into well-defined trails amidst thick forest cover. After trekking for around 13km you will cross Parvati river pulley crossing and reach the campsite location. Here you can enjoy the local food and festive from nearby shops. Continuing the trail from campsite location to khirganga will not be much time taking. khirganga will give you the 360- degree panoramic view of the beautiful Himalayas embracing different shades of nature in his lap.
Day 03 -Khirganga – Tundabhuj(3200m/9696 ft; 6 to 7 hrs, approx 16-17 km).
After having delicious breakfast at khirganga campsite you will head to Tundabuj. The trails of Tundabuj are decorated with green alpine meadows and silver woody trees with the melodious sound of flowing water.
Tundabaj is the best campsite destination of pin Parvati pass trek with a picturesque view of waterfall passing through the opposite mountain range. The beautiful peaks of snow-capped mountains
Day 04 - TundaBhuj - Pandu Pul
The trail of Pin Parvati Pass continues through a landscape consisting of waterfalls, lakes, and meadows till Thakur Kuan. The first hour into the trek is full of beautiful meadows and flowers. As the meadows become thinner, you will come across a river crossing. If the bridge to the other side of the Parvati river is broken, you will have an adventurous rock climb. Parvati Valley finally reveals itself once you reach the high point. The area has plenty of flowers and in monsoon, the entire stretch of land will be in full bloom of yellow and purple.
Once you have passed this section of Pin Parvati Pass you will see a gigantic rock jammed on top of a tributary of Parvati acting as a natural bridge. Climb up the hill for about 20 minutes till you reach plain ground leading to Odi-Thach.
You will camp here for the night. The Pin Parvati trek campsite is just below the last ridge visible from Odi-Thach. It is also close to the river. The adrenaline rush due to the risky venture activities of the day is overwhelming.
Day 05 - Pandupul – Mantlai (4200 m/ 14000ft ; 7 – 8 hrs)Approx 12 – 13 km
The trek for the day is a gradual walk through the boulders and plateaus alongside Parvati River. The route towards Mantalai is all along through the green valley. You will have to cross a rocky elevation after an hour into the trek, followed by which you will see the marshy land along the river basin.
As you walk along the moraine, you get a glimpse of the Mantalai Lake. At the bank of the river is a temple, where all of Parvati’s tributaries come together. The sound of the river that was roaring all long now becomes still and quiet. We will camp here for the night.
Day 06 - Mantalai – Base of Pin Parvati Pass (4800 m/ 16000ft ; 8 – 9hrs, approx. 9 – 10 kms).
The walk will be hard as the terrain of this very region of Pin Parvati Pass gets challenging with a high gain in elevation. After an hour into the walk, you will come to an icy cold river intersection. After the crossing comes the steep climb from where one can view the beautiful glaciers and the origin of the Parvati river.
The last 1 km before reaching the base camp of Pin Parvati Pass trek is known as moraine (meaning glacial debris), and it is approximately at 50 degrees’ inclination. It will take you approx. 90 mins to complete the Pin Parvati’s last stretch. The campsite will be on a plateau. You will have to pull out your warm and heavy clothes as the night might get colder.
Day 07 - Base of Pin Parvati Pass – – Pin Parvati Pass(5300m)- Pin Valley Camp (4810 m/ 16000ft ; 9 – 10hrs, approx 20 – 21 kms).
The walk to the pass will take 3 hours to complete. You are now at the pass; the view is impressive. At the top, one can see a magnificent view of the snowy mountains of Hampta region on one side and the Pin valley of Spiti on the other. Once at the pass, all your tiredness will slip away and a sense of achievement will dawn in.
The walk down from the pass is easy and comfy. If there is snow you can pass through it as well. After walking for about 6 hours you will reach the Pin Valley base campsite. At this camp, you have entered Spiti valley.
Day 08 - Pin Valley Camp – Tia(CheenPatt) (3900 m/ 13000ft ; 8 – 9hrs, approx 14 – 15 kms).
Once you cross the pass, you enter the mighty Spiti valley. Spiti will be a welcome change in all her vigor. Spiti region is generally dry with less rainfall and snowfall. The trail is well made as it is used by many shepherds. You will notice many grazing goats and sheep and their shepherd tents. Spiti has different shades of brown and green. Magnificent mountains covered on both the sides.
Day 09: Tia(CheenPatt) – Mud (3600 m/ 11500ft ; 8 – 9hrs, approx 11 – 13 kms).
The walk on the road from Tia can be completed in lesser time with considerably good speed. Mud is a small and the first village you will see. There are plenty of cafes here to quench your thirst and tang of the taste buds. Here is where your trek on foot ends.
Day 10: Mud to Kaza – Manali: Drive from Kaza to Manali over the Kunzum La (4550 Mts. Rohtang Pass - 13052 m).
You will be starting from Kaza early morning to avoid traffic jams. The route will take through Kumzum La pass, across the Key monastery and Rohtang Pass. You can stopover at these places for a bit before continuing the journey further. You will be checking out at Manali.
Day 11 :
Return journey begins from Manali to airport/Railway station.
Pin Parvati pass trek is not a difficult one. It is categorised as moderate level trek.
The temperature and Weather of Pin Parvati trek varies. During May-September, it is warm over here. Hence this season is best for Pin Parvati trek.
The accommodation is included in the trek cost to Pin Parvati but the place has plenty of places to stay and betterment is not a problem.
On the Pin Parvati Pass trek Meals will be freshly prepared and will be a mix of Indian and other combinations which include Chinese and continentals. Also, you can catch some desi food of the Pin Parvati Pass region to give some delight to taste buds.

5. Food to/from the starting of trek and checkpoint is exclusive.
ATM Points and Connectivity
ATM services in Manali is pretty good but in the trek Valley sometimes it does not work, so it is advisable to carry the required cash or withdraw from the start location where it is to withdraw the money.
Although mobile networks and signals work in nearby regions of Pin Parvati trek you will not find good internet connectivity. Manali may have some good connectivity, but it is better to make important and necessary calls before you start the trek of Pin Parvati Pass.
The permit needed for the trek at Pin Parvati pass and camping charges may be included as part of the trek.You have to carry your ID cards and photocopies of your driving license or voter ID or passport (along with visa for non-Indian travellers), and passport size photos.

Since this is a relatively longer trek, the trekkers can choose a rucksack with a large capacity to hold their clothes and belongings, along with any accessories and gears they wish to get along with them. Choose bags with wide straps and hip belts to evenly distribute weight and maximize comfort.
Yes, Porters and mules will be available to carry the personal luggage of the trekkers. However the expenses should be borne by the trekkers. The porters charge around Rs. 300 per bag per day. Also kindly ensure that the weight of the luggage doesn’t exceed more than 12 kgs.
Since this is a long trek with tricky terrains, it is advisable to go for trekking boots that are comfortable and support the feet and ankles of the trekkers. They are also slip resistant and protect the feet from the cold.
