By Air: The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport which is located around 30 kilometres away from Delhi. Bhuntar also is located near Manali but the flights are limited.
By Road: Kasol is 30 km from Bhuntar and can be reached easily from Delhi.
By Rail: Railheads are not easily approachable. Nearest broad gauge railheads are at Chandigarh, Pathankot and Kalka.
Sar pass trek can be planned between July to September. Prior to July the region remains covered with snow and trekking does get difficult.

Sar pass trek is an easy level trekking expedition suitable for beginners. The trails do not have any challenging stretches. There is no special training required for this trek.
People doing the Sar Pass trek need to have a permission from the forest checkpost. This is easily available and the original and xeroxed copies of identification cards are required.
Identification cards such as driving license or voter ID along with a passport size photo are compulsory and would be required while obtaining the permit for the trek.There are no other permissions or permits required.
The usual temperature is 5-degree centigrade to 11 degrees Celsius during the night time and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius in the daytime during the summers. The winters are generally harsh and the region gets covered with snow.
There will be guest rooms booked for the first day of the trek and post that we will staying in tents or trekker hunts at the campsites.

There are no ATMs nearby and also on the trekking route. The nearest ATM is at Kasol which is most prominent town on this trek. It is advisable to withdraw money from here before you start you trek.Make sure you withdraw sufficient amount of cash for the entire journey and carry it with you.None of the cell phone networks also work up there properly, however, you might get limited network at times. Major networks work properly till Manali or Kasol only.Make sure you complete all your important calls and let your family members know about this connectivity issue before you start trek.
