One of the most famous treks of the state is Prasher Lake trek which starts from Mandi in the Kullu Valley. Mandi is one of the most beautiful cities of this state.

The Prasher lake trek is a gorgeous and pleasing blue water lake surrounded by Dhauladhar ranges in the Kullu Valley.

An intriguing detail of the Prasher lake is that this lake keeps changing its position throughout the year. This makes it more interesting to explore. Along with this, it is believed that sage Prasher meditated here and hence the name of the lake is kept in his name.

Package Details

The highest altitude of the Prasher lake trek is 8900 ft and the difficulty level is easy to moderate. The lake is a gorgeous one whose view is resplendent and the trail taking you towards it is amazing as well.

The trail involves charming dense forest, rivulets, small villages, long pin trees, temples and peaks. One can experience the rich and the ancient Himalayan architecture while crossing this trail. On the edge of the lake, there is a Pagoda like temple and is famous for the wooden carvings.

During the winters, the atmosphere and the view of the mountains is even more beautiful as they are covered with snow.

It is a two days trek which mostly involves uphill movements. The trek is an easy one with spectacular views.

Location and How to Reach

The Prasher Lake trek falls in the Himachal Pradesh region. The starting point of the trek is at Mandi in the Kullu Valley. Mandi is well connected with the road ways so you can reach to this place via your private or the public transport. Mandi is the base area from which this trek starts.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive at Bhunter and start the Trek

On the first day, you have to arrive at Bhunter which is in the Kullu district at around 8 am and then start the trek for the Prasher lake. It would take around 4 to 5 hours to cover the distance of 9 km and reach the Prasher lake.

The trekkers would reach there at 4 or 5 pm and the view of the sunset will be experienced. The trekkers will enjoy the scenic sunset view while enjoying tea and snacks.

Serene and peaceful time will be given to the trekkers to enjoy their trekking experience and have an overnight experience.

Day 2 – Explore the area and Return Back

The next day will be spent exploring the Prasher lake area.

The trekkers will enjoy and explore the famous ranges of the place like Dauladhar range, Pir Panjal range, and the other famous ranges.

You will be enjoying your breakfast with tea/coffee in the amazing view.

After this, you will start trekking down to Baghi which is around 8 kms from this place. After that, the trek ends when you reach Kullu.

Weather

The weather of the Prasher Lake keeps changing from chilly to moderate. The temperature is between 13°C-18°C during the daytime and in between 0°C-7°C during the night time. So, it is extremely chilly during the night and quite pleasing during the day.

  • You must avoid the sports shoes, jeans, and shorts while going to the Himalayan camp. It is always better to stick to the trek pants and the joggers.

  • If you cancel 3-6 days before the date of event:
    • 50 % of the actual amount of the trek. (Payment gateway charges will be deducted)
  • If you cancel 48 hours before the date of event:
    • No refund would be provided.
    • Last minute cancellations due to work, health issues etc. would not be entertained and no refund or transfer shall be allowed for the same.
  • Additional charges would be deducted (based on from where you booked) if you cancel the trek at any given date (along with the scenario described above), as payment gateway/event listing charges.
