Himalayas is so beautiful. It is highly rich in flora and fauna. But the valley of flowers is the most beautiful trek as it has got a valley of just wild flowers. This is so beautiful that you don’t want to come out of this place. It dosen't seem reality. It has got very rare flowers like blue poppy, balsam, anemones etc. To add on the the beauty of this place a river stream also flows. The altitude height of valley of flowers is around 14,400ft. I had an alluring experience.

I had planned this trip with a group of friends from Dehradun. We started our trekking from Govindghat and reached Ghangharia in around 5-6 hours. The trek was not too hectic as the ascent was moderate. We rested at Ghangharia for the night and then trekked to Valley of Flowers next morning. Surely it is wonderful to witness this beautiful valley. So many varieties of alpine and wildflowers grow in this valley during this time. It was surely a riot of colours out there. We went to Hemkund Sahib next which has the holy Gurudwara. Having a guide was really helpful and the organising team arranged us places for night stays. A highly recommended trip which you should definitely take.

I was not initially very sure to go for this trip as the whole distance one has to cover on this trek one way is 18 kilometers but decided to finally go here with a bunch of friends. Seems like it was one of the best decisions I had taken in a while as I thoroughly enjoyed this trek. Being a beginner did not pose any challenges as the trek was of moderate difficulty. We could witness beautiful alpine meadows, small villages, lush green forests, glacial rivers and waterfalls on the way. Staying at a Gurudwara was also a memorable experience. Got to witness some rare and beautiful type of flowers blooming here in the valley. A memorable experience that is still etched in my memory. A super trip it was totally!
