There is a sad story about this waterfall according to legend Ka Likai married second time so that she can take proper care of her children but unfortunately, her husband killed the daughter. He then cooked her and unknowingly Ka Likai ate that, after realising what happened in her absence she was so disturbed and in grief, she ran to the edge of the plateau and jumped off.

Dudh Sagar means the sea of milk and there is a legend related to it too. It is believed that a princess used to take a bath in the lake and then drink milk sitting nearby. One day a handsome prince was crossing the lake after hearing the voice of the princess he stopped and looked around the princess was shy and she poured the milk in the cascade which transformed into a curtain.
